Meet the threshold FundrAIsing App on Microsoft Power Platform
Author: Dan Lammot | CEO & Co-founder threshold.world

If you've been following the world of fundraising tech, you're well aware that the platforms and apps are evolving rapidly. This is especially true in the Microsoft for Nonprofits and Salesforce for Nonprofits ecosystems, which have served as the platforms of choice over the past 15 years, alongside purpose-built apps like Blackbaud's Raiser's Edge NXT, NeonCRM, and Bloomerang.
These changes have left a gap in the market for a platform-based, AI-enabled fundraising solution.
This is why we have created the threshold FundrAIsing app, built on the scalability, security, and AI capacity of the Microsoft Power Platform and the common language of nonprofit data in the Common Data Model for Nonprofit.
Who is this new fundraising for nonprofits app for?
The threshold FundrAIsing app is designed for nonprofits and healthcare foundations that have decided to leverage the Microsoft Power Platform and/or Dynamics 365 for CRM.
What features are included?
The threshold FundrAIsing app includes the core features you'd expect in a fundraising app, with a few exceptions. The features available today include:
Fundraiser workspace
Donor profiles
Moves management
Donations and gift types (major giving, recurring gifts, in-kind giving, etc.)
Recognition and crediting
Giving rollups
Donation import
Batch gift entry
Analytics with Power Bi
AI-enabled features include:
Donor profile summaries
Fundraising proposal assistant
Gift acknowledgment assistant
Microsoft Copilot connectivity
The app does not include pre-integrated online donations, peer-to-peer fundraising, NCOA, or wealth data, though each can be connected during implementation.
Can it be configured and customized?
Yes. The threshold FundrAIsing app is 100% configurable and customizable, with no exceptions.
What is the app's architecture?
The threshold FundrAIsing app is an unmanaged Power App built on the Microsoft Power Platform and the Common Data Model for Nonprofit. These are the only two dependencies the app requires. Once installed in your environment, it is yours, with no strings attached. We chose to build the app on the Microsoft Power Platform because it is the leader in Enterprise Low-Code Application Platforms, offering unparalleled flexibility and speed of application delivery. And we chose the Common Data Model for Nonprofit because it offers the most widely adopted language for data in the nonprofit market, greatly improving interoperability for fundraising, to grants and awards, case management, program design and results, among others. Put simply, it is the best foundation for nonprofit CRM available today.
What Microsoft licenses are required to use it?
The threshold FundrAIsing app requires a Microsoft 365 and Power Apps licenses. That's it. That being said, it is designed to work with complementary Microsoft Business Applications, including Dynamics 365 Sales, Customer Insights (aka Marketing), Customer Service, Field Service, Business Central, and Power Bi, among others. It also works seamlessly with your front-office productivity apps from Microsoft 365 and your data platform based on Microsoft Fabric.
What does it integrate with?
Because the threshold FundrAIsing app is a Power App, it inherits the connector capabilities of the Microsoft Power Platform. Simply put, you can connect it with any app or data service with an API. Read more about the connector architecture and a list of available connectors on the Power Apps Connectors page.
How much does it cost, and how can I get it?

What's on your roadmap?
Our top priority is to support our existing Fundraising & Engagement customers as they transition to alternative CRM solutions. The threshold FundrAIsing app provides a new foundation for our customers who plan to continue leveraging Microsoft for CRM. In parallel, we're partnering with new strategic customers whose needs align with the threshold FundrAIsing app's capabilities and our services capacity. In this context, we're adding new features based on customer demand. We will release a connector to b.world, our AI-enabled program design, impact measurement, and storytelling app, so you can connect dollars to outcomes.
We welcome your feedback, guidance, and recommendations.
